Charlie's parents were A. Zachariah Hastings and Lilly Ann Phillips, who were married in Limestone County, Alabama. They both died in Prentiss County, Mississippi

C. P. Haston was born in Giles County, Tenn, August 2nd, 1859, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. C. McCaleb, May 17th, 1936, age 77 years, 10 months and 15 days.
His parents moved to Mississippi when he was a small child. He was married to Miss Ellen Beasley at Ripley, Tippah County, Mississippi, April 15th, 1882. From there they moved to Kennedale, Texas in 1884, where they made their home for six years, since which time they lived in the Mansfield community. to them were born ten children, five of who still survive, Mrs. May McCaleb, Mrs. Ruby Kemp, and John C. Haston of Mansfield; Mrs. Maggie Kirk of Fort Worth and C. P. Haston, Jr. of Grandview, Texas.
Those left to mourn his loss are his widow, two sons, three daughtes and a host of grandchildren and other relatives, besides many friends who will sadly miss him. He was a devoted husband and faher, a true and faithful friend and a loyal citizen ever ready to lend a helping hand to the needy and distressed.
