Miss Julia at the age of 27 years became a widow with thre children through the death of her husband, Bony Barbee. Never complaining, she became the bread winner and home maker for three children, for a widow she remained all her life with three children, who blessed her with three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was the daughter of Fannie Warren & Charles Hassell,Sr.

She died, age 83, on August 11, 1956.
