LINCOLN - Gladys F. Gillespie, 85, wife of the late Joseph Gillespie, died July 9, 2001, in Lincoln at Colonial Health Care, with her beloved family at her side. She was born in Lincoln, Feb. 11, 1916, the daughter of Benjamin and Sarah (MacDonald) Haskell. Gladys once owned and operated the Lincoln Lunch restaurant in Lincoln, and also ran the Lincoln Taxi for several years. She was a member of VFW 1438 Ladies Auxiliary, loved to play the piano and loved being around her family and friends. Her favorite song was "How Great Thou Art." She is survived by a sister, June Haskell of Lincoln; three daughters, Donna Hilchey and Barbara Thompson, both of Lewiston and Roberta Sibley and her fiance, Mark Parker Sr., of Passadumkeag; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Clay Funeral Home in Lincoln. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lincoln Cemetery, with the Rev. Clayton Crocker officiating. Friends who wish may donate in her memory to the Activities Fund at Colonial Health Care. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
