Alberta "Bert" Grace Bowers, age 90, of Naperville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2007, at the Tabor Hills Healthcare Facility in Naperville, IL. She was born in Oswego, IL, on November 18, 1916, the daughter of Alex and Grace (nee Grey) Harvey.
Bert was united in marriage on November 30, 1933, to Mr. Arnold Raymond Bower, and they spent the next 65 happy years of their lives together until his passing on July 14, 1998. She was loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Mrs. Bower was a member of the Oswego Prairie United Methodist Church, in Oswego, IL. Alberta grew up in Oswego, and farmed with her late husband, Arnold Bower.
She is survived by her sons, Arlo (Marilyn) Bower of Seward, NE, and Dennis (Vicki) Bower of Oswego, IL; her daughter-in-law, Beverly Bower of Oswego, IL; her eight grandchildren; her 12 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Bert was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Grace Harvey; her husband, Arnold Raymond Bower; her son, Franklin Bower; her two sisters, Virginia Fessler, and Florence Book; and her brother, Alex Harvey.
A memorial service will be held at 2PM on Friday, January 5, 2007, at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Pkwy., Yorkville, IL, with Pastor Keck Mowry officiating. Interment will be private.
Friends may visit from 11AM until the hour of service on Friday, January 5, 2007, at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.
