MRS SUSAN ARMOUR EXPIRES AT SON'S HOME
Mother of William and Charles Armour - Member of Pioneer Scotch Family
Death came suddenly to Mrs. Susan Jane Armour Tuesday evening, shortly after 10 o'clock as she sat in her arm-chair at the home of her son, William H. Armour, 1232 North church street. Her eyes closed as though in sleep but it was the sleep that knows no waking on earth.
Mrs. Armour was born at the old Harvey homestead in Argyle December 2, 1842. Her husband died in 1867 and a daughter in 1878. She is survived by two sons, William, with whom she made her home, and Charles C. Armour, both of Rockford. A brother, Daniel G. Harvey, of Rockford, is now the sole survivor of a family of eleven children.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Presbyterian church, the Rev. W. H. Fulton officiating. Burial will be in the Scotch cemetery at Argyle.
Mrs. Armour's parents were Mr. and Mrs. William Harvey, pioneers of the Scotch settlement. They came here from Campbelltown, Scotland.
