Port Orange; 2/9/1930 – 9/26/2003. Gertrude "Trudy" Polzin, 73, of Hampton Circle, a resident since 1990, died Friday at home.
Mrs. Polzin, a homemaker, was born in Kentucky, and moved to this area from Glen Burnie, Md.
She was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church, the Elks Lodge No. 2723 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3282. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and playing cards.
Survivors include her fiancé, Al Hamilton; two sons, Michael Polzin and Richard Harvey, both of Maryland; a daughter, Andrea Polzin, Virginia; and five grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. National Cremation, South Daytona, is in charge.

Graveside services for Gertrude ''Trudy'' Polzin, 73, of Daytona Beach, Fla., and formerly of Glen Burnie, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 7215 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie.
Mrs. Polzin died of lung, lymph node and bone cancer Sept. 26 in Daytona Beach after a seven-month illness.
She was born Feb. 9, 1930, in Kentucky and lived in Glen Burnie before moving to Daytona Beach 12 years ago.
Mrs. Polzin was a member of Elks Lodge 2723 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3282. She also was a member of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed helping people, making people laugh and making people feel important. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Her husband, Andrew L. Polzin, died Sept. 22, 1991.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Polzin and Richard Harvey of Glen Burnie; one daughter, Andrea Polzin of Virginia; and 6 grandchildren.
Interment will follow the services. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
