Name on headstone is wrong. It should be Ruby Isabell Hartvigsen. She was always called Isabell by her parent and by her sisters. On the 1920 and 1930 census it shows Ruby I. On her church blessing record it shows Ruby Isabell. Ancestry.com reports the name on the birth certificate to be Ruth. I will post the birth certificate when I get a copy of it.

She developed simple housekeeping skills and could boil soup, and fix a simple sandwich. She cut and sewed rags together and then crochetted rugs.
She crochetted hot pads and later made simple afghans.
She liked to color and look at story books. She enjoyed T.V. especially old musucals and laughed at Bud Abbot and Lou Costello, the Three Stooges, childrens stories, and cartoons.
Ten years ago, when she came to live with me, I took her to the local family practitioner. He diagnosed her as Creeton or Hypo-thyroid. this condition is caused by lack of iodine in the mothers diet while pregnant. It is tested for shortly after birth and compleatly corrected by giving iodine to the baby.
Isabell was my friend, playmate, and babysitter. I remember sleeping in her old fashioned 6' high backed bed in the upstairs room in Downey and in the basement in Logan. She and I would walk to the store for suckers and then up to Temple Hill and roll down the Temple lawn together.
On New Years Day 1992 Isabell was hospitalized. She was vomiting old blood. After two weeks in intensive care exploratory surgery found that she had a ruptured appendex. Three weeks later she came home with an open draining encision. Everyone who cared for her at the hospital docoters, nurses, janitorial people, and volenters loved her. She smiled at and thanked everyone for every service given to her. Isabell had a temper and could pout but unless she was teased or treated badley was very easy to live with.
After her parents died, 40 years ago, she lived with her sister Dora England and Leona Gibbs for six months each per year. In 1981 Dora had a heart attack and Leona became ill and passed away. Isabell then lived winters with Mrs Teeples and summers with Dora. Dora was spending her winters in Sun City Arizona. In 1983 Mrs Tepples confessed to her son who was also her bishop that she was beating Isabell. Mrs Teeples was in her 70's ill and poor. I went to Salt Lake and brought Isabell to live with us and she has been here ever since except for brief stays with Dora in Salt Lake while we vacationed in the summers.
She could hear a simple peice of music and then play it by ear on the piano. She loved attention even dads teasing, little gifts such as flowers and candy, and car rides.
