Louise C. (Hartmann) Bennett, age 82, of Yankton, South Dakota, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Avera Yankton Care Center in Yankton, South Dakota

Funeral Services will be on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Calvary Lutheran Church in Irene, South Dakota, with the Reverend Mark Ostrem officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 to8:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton. Visitation will resume one hour prior to service on Friday at the church.

Pallbearers are Scott Domangue, Tony Morrison, Kenneth Vielmette, Duane Bennett, David Fuller and Mark Domangue.

Louise C. (Hartmann) Bennett was born June 4, 1928, in Yankton County, South Dakota, to Carl and Katherine (Sorensen) Hartmann. She grew up on the family farm and attended Anderson Country School District 52 in rural Yankton County. She married Kenneth Bennett on April 20, 1946, in Hartington, Nebraska. After their marriage they moved to Kenneth's homestead until purchasing their farm in rural Irene, South Dakota. They later moved to Yankton in 1996. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Irene. She enjoyed crafts, playing cards, raising her ducks and chickens, bowling, dancing, and baking.

Survivors include her two brothers: Verner (Cleora) Hartmann of New Sharon, Iowa and Dennis (Dawne) Hartmann of Yankton; four sisters: Arlene (Kenneth) Vielmette of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Alice Domangue of Sioux Falls; Linda Johnson of Sioux Falls; and Mary (Welfred) Fuller of Fulda, Minnesota. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth on July 26, 2009; three sisters: Anna Adeline Sorensen, Ethel L. Hartmann, and Karen Hartmann; and two brothers: Hans E. Hartmann and Bert Hartmann.
