Florence Fae Bartolomei, 88 years old and a longtime resident of Burlington, NJ, went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2012, while residing at the Masonic Home of New Jersey.
Florence was born to Paul and Jeannette Hartmann in Petersburg, MN. She graduated in 1941 from Jackson High School and later graduated from Mankato Commercial College. She eventually moved out to Bremerton, WA, and was employed as a ship welder. There she met and later married Victor Bartolomei on Aug. 13, 1943.
Florence was employed by the Burlington Coat Factory and later on, she and Victor became owners of Flo's Gift-o-Rama, Columbus, NJ, where she worked until she retired. Florence attended Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Bordentown Ladies League and received many awards for her bowling skills. She enjoyed music and singing. Gardening was her favorite past time. She was always outside talking and caring for her flowers. Roses were her favorite. She couldn't wait for snowstorms! Her snow-blower was always the first one out for cleanup. The more snow the better! She loved Bingo, road trips and sitting at the pool with her family. She developed an interest in the game of ice hockey and became "Grammie" to lots of local youth hockey players. Most of all she loved her family! There was nothing more important than spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren!
Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Vincent Bartolomei, and sisters, Dolores Gaiser and Verna Wolford. She is survived by her son, Roger Bartolomei and wife, Roseann, of Michigan; son, Gary Bartolomei and wife, Linda, of Burlington; daughter, Cheryl De Rita and husband, Albert, of Burlington; her grandchildren, Annette, Brian, Victor, Summer, Tiffany, Albert Jr. and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Brandon, Kady, Leia, Faye, Brielle, Moriah, Victor Jr. and one on the way; sister, Ruth Reifsteck, and sister, Karen Walker and husband, Bob, all of Wisconsin; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Wolford and Wayne Gaiser of Minnesota; brother-in-law, James Bartolomei and wife, Rita, of Bordentown; a few cousins, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 26, at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1308 Mt Holly Rd., Burlington Township, NJ 08016, with Rev.
