Mrs. Christina Ackerman, aged 74 years, wife of Henry Ackerman, one of Mansfield's pioneers, died at the family home, 143 East First Street, Thursday afternoon at 5:15 o'clock, after an illness of several weeks.
Mrs. Ackerman was born in Crestline, July 17, 1849, and has spent her entire life in the vicinity of Mansfield. Mr. and Mrs. Ackerman recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. Ten children were born to this union, and of that number nine survive.
She is survived by four sons, Adam and Henry Jr., of Chicago; Harry of Cincinnati, and Albert of Mansfield. Also surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Mary Carver of Toledo; Mrs. Ella Wenzel of Berlin, Germany; Mrs. Aulta Sutherland of New York City; Mrs. Bessie Schmidt of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Mrs. Pearl Hoffman of Mansfield.
Funeral services will be held at the family home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
