Christina A. Armstrong, 86, of Washington, died Friday, May 22, 2015, in Washington Hospital.

She was born June 4, 1928, in Dunbar, a daughter of the late Frank and Sarah Coakley Hartley.

Mrs. Armstrong attended Granville schools.

On June 5, 1945, she married Carl E. Armstrong Sr., who died April 29, 2004.

Mrs. Armstrong was a homemaker who enjoyed playing bingo.

Surviving are seven children, Carol L. Binns (Ron), James W. Armstrong, Carl E. Armstrong Jr. (Linda), Kathy J. Armstrong, Sandra K. Ramsey (Mark), Rick Armstrong (Ruthie) and Brenda Shearer (Jeff); a daughter-in-law, Debbie Armstrong; a brother, Thomas Hartley (Louise); three sisters, Shirley Harris (Edgar), Ethel Brodak and Frances Volcheck; 16 grandchildren, Rhonda Bowles, Brian Binns, Christina McGlumphy, Wesley Armstrong, Wendi Yantek, Angela Armstrong, Jennifer Armstrong, Kelly Stevens, Eric Armstrong, Fred Armstrong Jr., Dale Armstrong, Chad Armstrong, Austin Ramsey, Matthew Armstrong, Ryan Armstrong and Chloe Shearer; 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her husband of 59 years and parents, are two sons, Jack Armstrong and Fred Armstrong.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday in Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, PA 15301, where funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, May 28, with the Rev. Newman officiating.

Interment will follow in Woodruff Memorial Park, North Strabane Township.
