BAKERY MANAGER DEAD AT 48
Sikeston - John W. Hartzog, manager of Hart's Bakery in Sikeston and co-founder of the Hart's chain, died Tuesday in a Memphis, Tenn. hospital. He was 48. Death was due to a massive brain hemorrhage.
Funeral services will be in the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery here.
Mr. Hartzog was born in Barbour County, Alabama, Oct. 11, 1919, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Yancy Hartzog. He was married to the former Miss Theda Short. She survives.
Mr. Hartzog and his brothers founded Hart's Bakeries and he was also on the board of directors of Security National Bank.
Also surviving are a son, John Hartzog Jr. and a daughter, Mrs. Lynn L. Lancaster' two sisters, Mrs. Ronnie M. Woodall and Mrs. Wayne D. Johnson; seven brothers, L. S. Hartzog, D. W. Hartzog, Lawrence Hartzog, David Hartzog, Ellis Hartzog and Hilton Hartzog.
