Georgia May Harrod, long time resident of Monrovia, passed away March 15, 2008, at her home of 6 years in Placentia.

Georgia was born August 17, 1931, to Paul and Mildred Magaris, in Honolulu,where her father was stationed in the Navy. Her father was lost October 31, 1941, with the northern Atlantic sinking of the USS Reuben James. She enjoyed meeting many remaining survivors at several of their reunions, years later. After her grandson and gre at-grandchildren, her greatest passion was music. She loved to sing and had her brief moment in the spotlight in the San Gabriel Civic production of the Wizard of Oz. In addition to being actively involved with Monrovia Job's Daughters, PTA, and Brownies, she served as a volunteer at the City of Hope.

Georgia is predeceased by her parents and recently her brother Paul. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Robert; daughters Paula, Roberta, and Julie (Jeffrey); grandson Andrew (Trisha); great-grandchildren Joseph, Sarah, and Jacob; her pomeranian Sassy, and very special caregiver Maria. Georgia was able to enjoy her last week at home with the dignity of Hospice care and the love of family and friends. Services will be private with the scattering of her ashes at sea.
