Hilda Harrison Crookston, 95, passed away June 2, 2012 at her home in Washington, Utah. Born August 15, 1916 in Knightsville, Utah the daughter of James William and Beatrice Atkinson Harrison.
She married Earl D Crookston in Farmington, Utah in 1937 he preceded her in death December 3, 1992. She ran a beauty shop out of her home for several years, but her life was more dedicated to being an excellent homemaker. Mom loved to sew, knit and crochet, and she could grow anything in her flower and vegetable gardens.
Hilda will also be remembered as an outstanding cook especially for her white fruitcake, and chocolate cinnamon rolls. Mom was blessed with a keen mind and an amazing memory for facts and relationships.
She spent her life devoted to her husband and nine children, and leaves a legacy of love, kindness, honesty and a dedication to learning that will last for generations. Survived by her children: Jim (Lynan) Crookston; Doug (Judy) Crookston; Ken (Janice) Crookston; Nicki Kelly; John (Susan) Crookston; Doris (Fred) Bloom; Mike Crookston; Russ Crookston; Tim Crookston; 31 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a grandson, a brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday June 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Anderson & Sons Mortuary Chapel, 49 East 100 North, Am.
