The daughter of William H. Harrison and Martha Pilsher, Edna married Lucien Vance Barbour on 10 Sep 1913 at the Walnut Park Presbyterian Church in St. Louis, Missouri. They were the parents of 4 children.

Early in his career, Lucien worked as a street car operator. He later was employed by an insurance company, and then he was an electrician in St. Louis.

Lucien died of lung cancer in 1937 at the age of 51.

On 19 Mar 1939, Edna on her way to Kingsland Presbyterian Church at 7:45 p.m. in the evening. She was walking from the south side to the north side of the 6700 block of Page in St. Louis County.

Edna was struck by an automobile driven by a 26-year-old friend and former classmate of her oldest son. He stopped his car and recognized that the woman he had hit was Edna.

He reported that he had been traveling at about 30 miles per hour, but had not seen her because the street was dark and there was no streetlight where the accident took place.

Edna was taken by private ambulance to St. Louis County Hospital. She suffered a fractured skull and a brain hemorrhage, and died at the age of 45 years, 7 months and 11 days.

She was survived by 2 sons, Carroll Barbour, aged 25, and Lucien H. Barbour, aged 10; 2 daughters, June Barbour, aged 16, and Lois Barbour, aged 9; 2 sisters, Myrtle Geissel and Ida Gentry; and extended family members.

Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. on the afternoon of 22 Mar 1939 at the George L. Pleitsch Chapel on Easton Avenue in St. Louis.

Edna was buried next to her husband, Lucien.
