Mary Maude Harrison Goughenour of Lyman, MS peacefully passed away at her home on May 8, 2005.
Mary Maude was a life long resident of the coast. Mrs. Goughenour was born on July 14th, 1937 in New Albany, MS. She was a graduate of Pass Christian High School. She served as a telephone communications operator/supervisor at Stennis Space Center in Bay St. Louis for 27 years before retirement. She also was employed at South Mississippi Regional Center in Long Beach, MS before full retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lyman where she joyfully sang in the choir with her partner and soul mate Floyd.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Foley Harrison and her father Claude Harrison, Sr. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband and best friend of 30 years, Floyd J. Goughenour.
She will be deeply missed by her loving and caring children: Four sons, John E. Necaise and wife Mary of Rolla North Dakota, Everett (Billy) W. Necaise, Jr. of Long Beach, Hollis Goughenour and wife Margaret of Picayune, MS., Doug and wife Lynn Goughenour of Diamondhead, MS. Four daughters, Jeannine Rider and husband Bobby of Buford, GA, Maureen Stewart and husband Monroe of Perkinston, MS, Lisa McTaggart and husband Wayne of Phenix City, AL, Trish Kennedy Edwards and husband, Ronnie of Gulfport, MS.
Grandchildren whom she loved so much and adored: Two granddaughters Patricia Hunt of Mandeville, La., and Wendy Kennedy of Gulfport, MS, Five grandsons, Christopher Ferrell of Long Beach, MS., John (Davy) Ferrell, of Buford, Ga., Karl John Hager, Jr. of Hattiesburg, MS., Kristopher Stewart of Wiggins, Ms., Walter Necaise, Chade' Necaise and Byron Necaise of Long Beach, MS. Skyla McTaggaart and Loreal McTaggart of Phenix City, AL and best friend in life, Mrs. Betty Baxter of Pearlington, MS.
Four great grandchildren, Justin Hunt, Payton Ferrell, Hunter Stewart and Aaron Stewart.
The visitation will be held Thursday, May 12, 2005, at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, Hwy. 49, N., Gulfport, where friends may call from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be Friday, May 13, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport, MS.
All who knew Mary Maude loved her, especially her smile that beamed like a ray of sunshine. She was truly her children's guardian angel. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
