Mrs. Ernest Dettinger, of Northfield, passed away March 13, 1940, at the hospital in this city, where she had been under treatment for a little less than a week.
Death was due to gall bladder trouble and complications and came as a shock to her family and friends. Mr. Dettinger had been with her at the hospital.
Funeral Services were held at the home at 1:00 P.M. March 15th, and at the Upper Pigeon church at 2 P.M.
Pallbears were Oscar Erickson, Irvin Peterson, Halvor Haugen, Andy Eide, Eugene Dettinger and Walter Hakes.
Flower girls were Mrs. Osborne Knutson, Minerva Johnson, Clarice Hakes and Iola Erickson.
Reverend E. B. Christorpherson officted at the service. Interment was made in the York Cemetery.
Nellie Mae Harris was born in the Town of Northfield, Jackson County, July 31, 1895. She was married to Ernest Dettinger, also of Northfield, November 7, 1917.
To this union five children were born, namely; Harold, Mahlon and Milton, all at home. One son and one daughter preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and three sons, and her aged mother, Mrs. Sarah Harris. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Guy Christenson, of Chippewa Falls. Her father passed away when she was but three months old, her only brother, Ebon died three
Mrs Dettinger was baptized and confirmed in the lutheran faith and remained true to that faith until the end. She was a most devoted wife and mother and will be sadly missed by her loved ones as well by her many friends. The deep sympathy of all goes to her husband, and sons and mother, who were so close to her and who sadly mourn her death.
Mrs. Ernest Dettinger, of Northfield, passed away at the hpspital in this city at an early hour this morning, March 13, 1940. She was brought to the hospital by by Dr. Leasum of Osseo, last Thursday, suffering of gall bladder trouble and serious complations. Mr. Dettinger has been staying with her at the hospital.
Altho still critically ill she had seemed a little better yesterday and her death is a great shock to her family and friends.
Mrs. Dettinger leaves her husband and three sons, the eldest of whom was to be married Saturday of this week to Miss Emma Brauner. Mrs. Sarah Harris, Mrs. Dettinger's mother, of Hixton, who has also been under treatment in the hospital, had been staying at the Dettinger home following her illness. Much sympathy is felt for the family. Funeral arrangements are not completed as we go to press.
