HILDA HARRIS
Funeral services for Hilda Harris, 79, of 422 M St., Rock Springs, were conducted Saturday, Nov. 26 at the Vase Funeral Home. The Rev. Peter Skaife of the First Congregational Church officiated. Interment was in the Mountain View Cemetery.
She died in her home Wednesday, Nov. 23 following an illness of four years.
Pallbearers were Dale Morris, Glen Hill, Bill Mitchell, Bill Dew, Tom Kiernan and Frank Dolinar.
She was born in Rock Springs on July 17, 1898, the daughter of the late Eric Herman and Elizabeth Howells Nelson. She attended school at Rock Springs and was married to James X. Harris here on January 20, 1920.
She is survived by one son, James O. Harris of Englewood, Calif., one stepdaughter, Christine Finkey, Monterey, Calif.; tow sisters, Mrs. Finis (Emma) Mitchell, Rock Springs and Mrs. Thomas (Ann) Kiernan, Ogden, Utah. Eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James and four sisters, Mary, Elsie, Elizabeth, Nellie and a brother, William. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and the Young-at-Hear Senior Citizens Center.
