GATE CITY, Va. -- Gracie S. Harris , 93, died Saturday (Jan. 31, 1998) at the Brian Center Nursing Home, Weber City, Va.
A resident of Gate City, Va., she was formerly of Big Moccasin in Nickelsville, Va.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Clayton Harris in 1971; her parents, George and Sudie Stapleton; a son, Arnold Harris in 1996; four sisters; and three brothers.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Betty) Smith, Gate City, Va., and Mrs. Jerry (Nancy) Hall, Weber City, Va.; a grandson that she raised, Jim A. Harris , Gate City, Va.; other grandchildren, Dinah Carter, Danny Smith, Sammy Harris , Sherry Bledsoe, Mark Harris , Dewayne Hall, Craig Hall and Jerry Hall; and several great-grandchildren.
Calling hours were held in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the Gate City Funeral Home, Gate City, Va.
Services were conducted in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jay E. Bowen officiating.
Graveside services conducted at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, Va.
