Mrs. Frances (Lady) Harris Brandon
Mrs. Frances (Lady) Harris Brandon, 90, of Martin, died Sunday, December 11, 2005, at her home. Services for Mrs. Brandon were held Tuesday, December 13, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church. Burial was in the East Side Cemetery in Martin. Rev. Dean Emerson officiated the services. Murphy Funeral was in charge.
Mrs. Brandon was a Homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the American Contract Bridge League reaching Silver Life Master status, the Dresden Bridge Club, the Fulton Duplicate Club and the Union City Duplicate Bridge Club. She was a graduate of Martin High School. Mrs. Brandon attended the University of Tennessee Junior College. She was initiated as an honorary member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority when the chapter was formed at the University of Tennessee ar Martin. She held active membership and opened her home for many years during sorority rush. and graduated from Memphis Normal-Memphis State. Mrs. Brandon was born August 30, 1915 in Troy, Tennessee to the late Kirk Harris and Effie Cox Harris Foust. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brandon was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert W. Brandon, Jr.
Mrs. Brandon is survived by two sons, Robert W. Brandon III of Martin and Wayne Harris Brandon (Kathy) of Clifton; three grandchildren, Lee (George) Mesimer of Martin, Kelly (Darrin) Parks of Union City and Kirk Brandon of Nashville; and six great grandchildren, Madison Mesimer, Mary Kirk Mesimer, Grant Mesimer, Alex Parks, August Parks and Karson Harris Brandon.
