Laura Ann Harrell, 87, 529C Bryan Ave., died at 3 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at Miller's Merry Manor East.
She was born on Oct. 28, 1914, in North Manchester, to Arthur and Nettie (Campbell) Moore. She married Merle E. Harrell on March 28, 1948, in North Manchester. He died on July 30, 1984.
A lifelong Wabash County resident, she had lived in Wabash since 1951, coming from North Manchester. She was a switchboard operator at First National Bank, Wabash. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and the Wabash County Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving are a daughter, Louann Harrell, Columbia, S.C.; a son, John Harrell, Mishawaka; a stepdaughter, Mrs. David (Sharon) Smith, New Haven; two grandchildren, Jason Harrell and Mrs. Mark (Jennifer) Mosier, both of Bourbon; two stepgrandchildren, Michael Smith, Indianapolis, and Serena Smith, Bristol, Tenn.; and six great-grandchildren. Two sisters are deceased.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Avenue Chapel. Rick Stone will officiate. #Burial will be in Falls Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the Wabash-Miami Home Health Care and Hospice.
