Funeral Services for Mrs. Alva Dixon Harp Chamberlin will be held Monday, September 28, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in the Rambin Community. Father Larry Niehoff will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 27 in the Chapel at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM; with a Vigil honoring the life of Mrs. Chamberlin beginning at 6:00 PM.

Mrs. Chamberlin was born August 10, 1928 in Coushatta, LA to Alva Bruce and Elizabeth Cuberly Harp and entered into rest on September 24, 2009 at Willis-Knighton Pierremont in Shreveport, LA.

Preceding Mrs. Chamberlin in death were her parents, her husband; Joseph Daniel Chamberlin Sr., sons; Joseph Daniel 'Danny' Chamberlin, Jr. and Jack Patrick Chamberlin, grandson; Samuel Peyton Bass. Left to cherish her memory are her son; Robert Dixon "Bobby" Chamberlin and his wife, Rhonda, daughters; Mary Ann Bartra and her husband, Edward, Martha C. Clark and her husband, Kenny and Rebecca C. Blankenship and her husband, Dennis, sister; Martha Harp Muckelrath, eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honoring Mrs. Chamberlin as Pallbearers will be Kenny Clark, Dennis Blankenship, Christian Hesser, Rob Chamberlin, Oliver Muckelrath and Chris Walker.

Mrs. Chamberlin's children wish to express their sincere gratitude for the love and friendship given to their mother through the past seventeen years from the staff and her many friends at The Red River Council on Aging. To Alzonia McIntire, thank you for being her faithful friend from the beginning to end. Her children would like to express deep appreciation to Dr. Robert Hernandez for his tender loving care and compassion.
