Lynn Hileman Harnish, 98 formerly of the Alexandria area and most recently of Riverview Manor the United Methodist Home in
Lewisburg died at 9:io p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 1985 at his place of residence. Born June 6, 1887 in Morris Township, Alexandria, R. D., he was the son of Josiah David and Ida (Hileman) Harnish. On July 27 1918 in Houtzdale, he was united in
marriage to Mary Rosevear who preceded him in death on June 3, 1974 His surviving family is a sister Mrs. Lillian Moore of Southside Alexandria, and the following nieces and nephews in the area: Mrs Newton C. (Nancy Rosevear) Taylor of Huntingdon; Mrs. John (Florence) Hammond of Petersburg; Donald LHarnish and Robert E. Harnish, both of Alexandria Star Route and Malvin C. Rosevear Sr. of Petersburg. Three brothers preceded him in death.Mr. Harnish was a member, past
elder and secretary of the Christ Reformed Church UCC in Alexandria. For 26 years he served as a member of the Huntingdon County Agricultural Extension board. He was also a member of the Alexandria Garden Club. From 1915 to 1916, Mr. Harnish was
head of the poultry department of the state institution at Polk and then was instructor of science and poultry at
the National Farm School in Doylestown. In 1917, he became supervisor of agriculture at Ontelajnee Vocational School at
Leesport.In 1920, Mr. Harnish established the Hillcrest Poultry Farm at Alexandria, R. D. (Morris Township) He served as secretary - treasurer of Production Credit Association in Hollidaysburg from 1935 -37; worked for the Agriculture Adjustment Association in 1938 and retired from business in 1958. At the request of the family, there will be no public viewing or visitation. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, at the Christ Reformed Church in Alexandria the Rev. Dr. C. B. Marsteller officiating Private interment services will be held at Huntingdon Memorial Gardens. It was the request of the deceased that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to the Lynn
Harnish Memorial Fund at the Christ Reformed Church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Grove Funeral
Home. Alexandria.
