Edna Mae Gamsby, 74, of Village Hamlet, North Manchester, died at her home, 10:35 a.m. Tuesday morning, Nov. 6, 1990 after following two years of failing health.
Mrs. Gamsby was born in Sidney, IN mar. 16, 1916 to Joseph and Clorous (Evans) Harney, both deceased. She married Russell M. Gamsby in Long Island, N.Y. Nov. 1, 1936; he preceded her in death April 14, 1979.
Survivors include three sons- Russell Gamsby, Jr of Silver Lake, Ralph Gamsby of Wabash and Robert Gamsby of North Manchester; three daughters- Mrs. Joe (Mary Ann) Moore of North Manchester, Mrs. Carl (Barbara) Porter of Syracuse, and Mrs. Edna Marcum of Goshen; a brother Ralph Harney of Rt 2, North Manchester; a sister, Ruby Roser of Wabash; a half sister, Gladys Russell of Indianapolis; 25 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were five grandchildren, a great-grandchild, a half brother and two half sisters.
Mrs. Gamsby was a member of the Olive Branch Church of God of Roann and a member of the North Manchester Moose organization.
Funeral services will be held Friday Nov. 9, 1990 at 11:00 a.m. at the DeLaughter Mortuary, with the Rev. Lowell Buriss officiating.
Friends may call today, Thursday, from 2 to 9 p.m. at the Delaughter Mortuary.
