ANDERSON, Ind. — Glenn Edward Harmon, 88, of Anderson, died June 4, 2011, at St. John's Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 23, 1922, in West Somerset, Ky., and had lived in Anderson for more than 50 years.

Glenn served with the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was the owner of Harmon Flooring, Inc.

He was a member of Hunstville Evangelistic Community Church, Mount Moriah Masonic Lodge 77, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Scottish Rite of Madison County, Murat Shrine Temple Indianapolis, Madison County Shrine Club, where he was past president in 1983, and American Legion Pendleton Post 117.

Survivors include his children, Glenn (April) Harmon of Englewood, Fla., Bill (Nancy) Harmon of Daleville and Jill Stansberry of Alexandria; grandchildren, Glenn (Vickie) Harmon of Summitville, Stephanie Harmon, Michelle Small of Alexandria, Regina (Rod) Terry of Summitville, Jason (Elida) Stillwell of Alexandria, Dax Harmon of Anderon, Grant (Miranda) Harmon of North Port, Fla., Heather (Steven) Longenbaugh of Pendleton, Greta (Brian) Gilliand of Golf Breeze, Fla., and Jason Lowe of New Castle; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is a special friend, Virginia Broadus.

Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, whom he married April 17, 1942, Betty (Schooley) Harmon; son, Ronald L. Harmon; parents, Grant E. and Ola K. (Poynter) Harmon; brothers, Bill Harmon and Arthur Harmon; sisters, Laretha Schondelmayer and Marie Nolan; son-in-law, Bill Stansberry; daughter-in-law, Robin Harmon; and granddaughter-in-law, Larissa Harmon.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, and will include a 6 p.m. Masonic memorial service.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Claude Creel. Burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson, where military rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 266 honor guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison County Shrine Club's Crippled Children's Fund.
