CRESWELL - Helen Agnew of Creswell died Feb. 14 of stroke-related causes. She was 77.
Agnew was born Jan. 6, 1925, in Ridgefield, Wash., to David and Racheal Pointer Harlan.
She was married to Robert Downes for 20 years. She later married Sandy Agnew in Carson City, Nev., on April 2, 1966.
She lived in Ridgefield, Wash., until moving to Springfield in 1943. She moved to Creswell in 1965.
She worked summers picking beans when her children were young. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and spending time with her three small dogs.
Survivors include her husband, Sandy; a daughter, Katheryn Christenson of Creswell; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A son, Robert Downes, died in October 1996.
No service is planned. England's Creswell Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
