Deloras M. Harkness, 76, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Scott County.
She was born Dec. 21, 1930, in Valentine, Neb., to Carl Clayton and Lucille Margaret Hinrich Dice.
A resident of Valentine until moving to Scott City in 1940, Mrs. Harkness was a homemaker and a farmer. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Scott City.
On Sept. 25, 1949, she married Robert W. Harkness in Scott City. He survives. Other survivors include two sons, Mike Harkness of Scott City, and Kenton Harkness of Garden City; a daughter, Deb Gruver of Scott City; two brothers, Darrell Dice of Nampa, Idaho, and Dennis Dice of Bend, Ore.; seven sisters, Verene Dearden of Garden City, Jean Brandenbuger of Thorton, Colo., Belva Dice of Klameth, Calif., Arlene Cookston of Homedale, Idaho, Kathy Coates of Salem, Ore., Rita Peterson of Boise, Idaho, and Bonnie Todd of Benton City, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Sonny Dice; and three sisters, Renee Good, Dorothy Bender and Midge Barber.
Funeral was at First Baptist Church, Scott City, with the Rev. Warren Prochnow officiating. Burial was in Scott County Cemetery, Scott City.
