Born May 20, 1920, in Webb City, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Dolph and Helen Hargis, one of eight children. She lived most of her life in Carl Junction and Lamar, Mo. She was a member of Carl Junction Methodist Church. Pearla loved her home and spending time with family. She was truly a sweet and kind person and will be missed by many. In particular, she was dearly loved by her nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Max Croley, preceded her in death in 1975. While they had no children, she, being the eldest daughter, helped her mother with her younger siblings, which she adored.
Survivors include two sisters, Janice Berry and Jeannine Tuggle and husband, Lloyd; sister-in-law, Donna Hargis; cousins, Bobbye Russell and Jayne Sill and husband, Carroll; and aunt, Virginia Summers and husband, Charlie. Siblings preceding her in death include John Hargis, Crystal Pratt, Dolph Hargis, Jim Hargis and Marvie Terrill.
The family express special thanks to sister, Janice Barry and niece, Jill Pratt, for assisting Pearla in her declining years at Edgemere.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, at Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of Parker Mortuary. Rev. Bob Simon will officiate. Her casket will remain closed.
