He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Clay "Cotton" Hargett, his mother, Barbara Ann Eaton, and his uncle, James Simmons.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Hargett; sons, Kevin Ashley, Dustin Hargett; daughter, Melissa Liles (husband, Adam); grandbabies, Hana Liles, Eren Liles, and Madison Liles; brothers & sisters, Teresa Burcham (husband, William), Cindy Scott (husband, Marvin), Junior Kimbrough, Jeff Hargett (wife, Beverly), Scott Hargett, Kevin Hargett (wife, Kim); and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
