Birth: 1812
Connecticut, USA
Death: Jul. 10, 1875
Warren County
Illinois, USA

Daughter of Nathan Harding and his wife, Philena Ann Clark. She is buried near her brother, Gen. Abner Clark Harding at Monmouth cemetery.

Marilla married Rev. Erastus Miner, and was the mother of five known children. The family marker is broken off at the top, with that portion probably missing before circa 1980, when members of the Warren County Genealogy Society made readings of the cemetery. At the bottom of the break appears to be the date of death for a child, which does not correspond to the dates of death among the other five known children. Daughter Marilla Ella preceded her mother in death during 1870.

Marilla's estate packet at the Warren County courthouse is over an inch thick, and contains a number of interesting items. Included is a receipt for her burial expenses of $4, which included the use of a buggy and two horses. Receipts for advertisement of her death in Saline county, Missouri newspapers were included. Son Joshua died there in 1877, prior to the filing of Marilla's estate; his four children responded. Son Charles Latimer/Latimore Miner did not respond to the advertisements. Son George F. Miner, who was residing with his mother when she died, signed an affidavit that brother Charles was last known to be living in Saline county.

A receipt of $1.90 was included from the Cook county, Illinois sheriff, for notification of Marilla's daughter, Mrs. Diantha C. Brady. Her estate included $500 in cash, with claims totaling $650. Two properties, totaling over 180 acres, were sold by the court to pay the debts. Son George's claim that he had paid off his mother's home to the estate of William Nash with his own money ($150), gave him clear title to the property. Any amount distributed to other heirs was not listed.
