Huella was born to Headspeth and Hattie Lee Hardin spending time in the Lima, Oklahoma area of Seminole County. She was preceded in death by parents; sister, Buelena Johnson; brothers, Buford and Emery Hardin. Huella married Willie L. Brown and spent most of her adult life in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Surviving Huella are her husband Willie, daughter, Dorothy Shinault (Raymond), and son, Timmy L. Brown. Also surviving are grandchildren siblings, J D Hardin, Clarena Shelton; her sibling/cousins, Patricia Gabriel Jones, Brenda Gabriel Hill, Wendell Gabriel, William Bruce Gabriel, and Sharon Gabriel Frazier. Sharon assisted her in her home, and was present at her death.

Upon moving to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Huella became a faithful member of Antioch Institutional Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. F. J. Waters.
