WRIGHTSVILLE — Funeral services for Ms. Dex Elva Hardaway Dominy, 95, will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Brown Memorial Baptist Church with interment to follow at Westview Cemetery. The Rev. Matt Chance, the Rev. Andy Perryman, Harold Deal and Elder Huey Glisson will officiate. Born in Laurens County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Dexter & Lily Hursey Hardaway. Ms Dominy was a graduate of the Georgia Women's College where she earned her bachelor's degree in education She was a former educator with the Johnson and Laurens County school systems and was Johnson County's first Woman of the Year. She was a charter member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority and a former Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Brown Memorial Baptist Church where she taught the Sodohtan Sunday school class for over 50 years She was preceded m death by her husband, the late E.A. Dominy. Mrs Dominy passed Monday afternoon.
