Minnie Bezdicek, 97, of Perry, Oklahoma was the daughter of James V. and Mary (Kafka) Hanyka. She was born November 16, 1909 near Red Rock, Oklahoma and died Friday, June 22, 2007 at Green Valley Nursing Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Minnie attended Indianola School in rural Noble County, southeast of Billings, Oklahoma. In 1930, she and Jerry J. Bezdizek were married and they made their home on a farm south of Perry, Oklahoma. Minnie was a homemaker who also helped her husband with farming operations until his death on October 12, 1987. She always planted a large garden and kept their cellar full of canned vegetables and fruit. In 1988, she moved to Perry where she lived the remainder of her life. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2007 in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery. Father Tom Dowdell will officiate. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry. She is survived by one brother, George Hanyka and his wife, Anna, of Billings, Oklahoma; one sister, Helen Lister, of Vancouver, Washington; eight nieces, Dorothy Oard and Helen Owen, both of Wichita, Kansas, Ella Barclay, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Allice Kohler, of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Shyrlene Alexander, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Rose Clark, of Coos Bay, Oregon and Ellen Gay and Rose Mary Bezdicek, both of Perry, Oklahoma; and six nephews, Tom Lister, of Portland, Oregon, Harold Hanyka, of Longview, Texas and James H. Hanyka, Bert Bezdicek, Charles Bezdicek and George Bezdicek, all of Perry, Oklahoma. In addition to her husband, Jerry, she was preceded in death by her parents, James V. and Mary Hanyka, three sisters, Martha Rede, Agnes Baumgardner and Bessie Galusha; and two brothers, Ralph Hanyka and Otto Hanyka.
