New Holstein—Mrs. John H. Arps, a former New Holstein resident, passed away at her home in Modesto California, on August third. Deceased, nee Minnie Hansen, was born in New Holstein December 7, 1855. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. H C Hansen. She was united in marriage with John H Arps of this city who preceded her in death fifteen years ago. Since that time Mrs. Arps made her home at Ouray, Colorado, and for the past five years in Modesto, Calif.
Funeral services were held at Modesto on August 4, following which the remains were taken to San Francisco for cremation. The ashes will be brought to this city and laid in the family lot at the New Holstein cemetery.
Mrs. Arps is survived by four sons, Edward and Otto Arps of Oakland, Calif, and Albert Arps, of Denver, Colorado. Among the bereaved is also one sister, Mrs. Charles Veers of Marshfield.
