Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today, June 20, at the LDS church in Challis with a viewing one hour before the services in the Relief Society room. Burial will be at 3 p.m. today in Mountain View Cemetery (formerly Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens), 2864 S. Fifth Ave. in Pocatello. Arrangements are under the direction of Jones & Casey Funeral Home in Salmon.
∼"Red" was the sixth child of Henry and Erma Brown Hansen. He grew up in Fort Hall, attending schools there. His mother passed away in 1946, and he moved to Challis, to live with his brothers, Keith and Selby, on the Bayhorse Ranch. In 1960 he married Irene Sommers. Not having any children of their own, they adoped a baby girl, Lisa in 1966. Red then worked for the J R Simplot Co. for many years, until he retired. He returned to Challis, and the Bayhorse Ranch. His wife, Irene, passed away, and later he re-married to Lorraine Baker in Idaho Falls. She also became ill, and passed on after just a few years. In 2004 he moved into the Challis Assisted Living Facility.
