He was born on October 29, 1920 in Rensselaer, Ind. to Felix Hansen and Anna Gross Hansen, both of whom preceded him in death.
Edward is survived by his daughter, Pamela Hansen of Burns Harbor, siblings Anna Halsema of Indianapolis, Robert Hansen of Middletown, Ohio and Leon (Ruth) Hansen of Indianapolis, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, who passed away in 1998 and his siblings Joseph and Minnie.
Edward was a machinist at the former Rockwell Steel Mill in Gary. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and enjoyed working and gardening, as well as fixing and repairing things.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 1, from 6-8 p.m. at the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd Street, Chesterton.
The service will be at 11:30 a.m. at Fair Oaks Cemetery, Fair Oaks, Ind.
