Mrs. Clarence May, 1010 Salem street, has received word of the death of her father, Jasper M. Hanover, 78, a former Lafayette resident. He died at 1 a.m. Monday at Lampson, Wis., where he made his home with a daughter, Mrs. Bernice Schreiber. He was born in Chanute, Kansas, and was married to Sarah Sledge, who died here in 1938. He had resided in Lafayette from 1923 until a year ago. He attended Hope chapel and is survived, in addition to the two daughters mentioned by three other daughters, Mrs. Fred Rooze, Lafayette; Mrs. Lois Jandrey., Creston, Iowa, and Mrs. Morris Morrow, Upper Darby, Pa., two sons, Roy, Lafayette, and Ray, Davenport, Ia.; two brothers; Leonard, Toledo, O.; and Will, Upper Sandusky, Ohio; and two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Sybert and Mrs. Anna Johnson, both of Great Bend, Kansas. The body will be returned to Lafayette.
