PEKIN ~ William Marshall Hanover, 71, of 1307 North 5th Street, passed away at 7:07 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at the Veterans Administration Illiana Health Care System in Danville.
Born March 25, 1935 in Pekin William A. and Alice M. (Drake) Hanover, he married Janet Lee O'Donnell Forbis on December 13, 1996 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one step-daughter, Christine (David) Smith of Princeville and one step-son, Robert S. (Tracey) Hedrick of Missouri and four step-grandchildren.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Bill worked for Caterpillar, Inc for 15 years then went into construction as a concrete finisher. He owned and operated Economy Construction and was a member of Local 18.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin.
A fan of NASCAR, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and loved his cats.
Cremation will be accorded. No service or visitation is planned. Burial of cremains will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.
