Rites Tuesday for Victim of Poison
The funeral of Mrs. Grace Dexter, 40, of Binghamton D.D. 1, will be held at 1:30 p.m tomorrow in Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Dexter died Saturday afternoon in City Hospital, where she was taken early the morning of March 14 after, sheriff's men said, she had swallowed three poisonous tablets.
The woman, who was on the critical list until death, swallowed the tablets, sheriff's men said, during an argument with her husband. Robert J., 37, at their Bar-D-Ranch off Burr Avenue.
Mr. Dexter was wounded in the left hip, authorities said, in a struggle with his wife for possession of his deer rifle. He has recovered.
The argument, according to Sheriff Arlington B. Thatcher was over a woman who had accompanied Mr. Dexter to the Dexter home.
Mrs. Dexter, who has a son, Robert Reynolds, by a previous marriage, will be buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Norwich. The Rev. Percy F. Rex, rector will officiate at the church.
Other survivors include Mrs. Dexter's mother, Mrs. Hannah M. Hannahs of Potsdam; six brothers, James T. Hannahs of Norwich. Stanley Hannahs of Richfield Springs, Gerald Hannahs of Massena, Roger Hannahs of Ithaca, richard Hannahs of Riverside, Cal., and Walter Hannahs Potsdam; a sister, Miss Laura Hannahs of Potsdam, and several nieces and nephews.
The body was taken to the George H Scholderer Home for Funerals.
