Inscription

John was originally buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, now defunct, and was buried here when Greenlawn was vacated. His original grave had a bronze piece on which was inscribed "S.A.R., 1775." This marker was secured through the efforts of the Daughters of the American Revolution
