Ellen J. Becker, 75, The Pines, Indiana, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011 at 12:40 a.m. in her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Rev. Mark Reshan officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 10:00 a.m. until service time Thursday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.
She was born December 18, 1935 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Paul and Evelyn (Voss) Hanna.
On August 14, 1954 in Michigan City, IN she married Charles J. Becker who preceded her on October 26, 1993.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Debby (Randy) Grieger, Julie Becker and Sandy Becker, all of The Pines, IN; two Sons, Dennis (Kathy) Becker of The Pines, IN and Brian (Joyce) Becker of LaPorte, IN; sister, Sue (Ed) Unger of Leesburg, FL; brother, Bob (Kay) Hanna of Lake Station, IN; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister Nancy Akers; and 2 brothers, Pete and Larry Hanna.
She retired from Jewel Food with 36 years of service. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the V.F.W. 2536 Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed playing slot-machines.
