Shot down by anti aircraft artillery flak and crashed near Osnabrück, Germany.

All ten crew members were killed. MACR 9488.

Killed In Action were:

2nd Lt. Quinton E Bailey, Pilot
Flt. Off. Jack P. Watters, Co-pilot [name not found-see below]
2nd Lt. Paul Baus, Jr, Bombardier
2nd Lt. Thomas P Chavis, Navigator
S/Sgt. Wallace Faires, Left Waist Gunner
Sgt. Fearon J Hanlon, Ball Turret Gunner
S/Sgt. William N Hergenhan, Right Waist Gunner
T/Sgt. Stanley T Hittner, Radio Operator
T/Sgt. William C Jaeger, Flight Engineer
Sgt. Herminio J Rodriguez, Tail Gunner

*The Missing Air Crew Report lists the co-pilot as Flight Officer Jack P. Watters, ASN T-3146. A NARA record for a Jack P. Watters has not been located. So it is uncertain who was the actual co-pilot.
First Lieutenant William R. Watters, who is on the headstone with the others interred in a group burial in Zachary Taylor National Cemetery, was on another flight that was shot down on the same date at the same location. So the original report has an error.
