Mrs. Francis (Bernice Deardorff) Hanks, 65, of Durango, Colo., formerly of Decatur, died 11:30 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 10, 1978) in Ponca City, Okla. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Free Methodist Church, Decatur. Memorials: LaPlada Community Hospital Auxiliary, care of Marie Corey, 1923 E. Lawn, Durango, Colo. 81301. Mrs. Hanks was born in Decatur, daughter of Lester and Caddie Deardorff. She married Francis Hanks. Surviving are her husband; son, James of Vienna, VA.; mother of Decatur; brother, Robert Deardorff of Spring Hill, Tenn.; sisters, Mrs. Ewing (Bessie) Blair of Spring Hill, Tenn.; Mrs. Don (Vera) Eades of Rock Falls; two grandchildren. Her father, one brother and one sister preceded her in death.
