The youngest child of Archibald Claud "Arch" Hanks and Lora Ann White, Archie served in the United States Army. He was a corporal when he received his discharge from the service.
Archie was a construction laborer. He was the father of 3 children from his marriage to Anna Mae Hayn, but they later divorced.
Archie moved to Springfield, Illinois. He was pronounced dead at his home there at the age of 56 years, 2 months and 16 days.
He was survived by 2 daughters, Barbara and Cheryl; 2 grandchildren; and 1 sister, Velma Bourland of Hillsboro, Illinois.
Archie was preceded in death by his parents. His father died in 1938 and was buried in Nebo, Pike County, Illinois. His mother passed away in 1957 and is buried in Hardin City Cemetery next to Archie's brother, Farris.
In addition to his parents, Archie was preceded in death by 1 son, Kenneth; and 4 brothers, Russell, Farris, Merle and William.
No visitation was held. Graveside services were conducted at 10 a.m. on the morning of 10 Jul 1986. Hanks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
