Joyce came to Manatee County in 1950. She was a former set-up technician at Eaton Corp. for 17 years. She was a former member of American Legion Post No. 312 in Oneco and attended Samoset Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Steven; her mother, Wanda Hanks; a son, James E. Pope; brothers Kenneth L. Hanks and Charles L. Hanks, Vernon E. Hanks, and Keith A. Hanks; and grandchildren.
