Clyde Learnce Hanks, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away November 17, 2006 in Oklahoma City at the age of 79. He was born in Prague, Oklahoma, on June 11, 1927 to Archie and Sylvia Hanks. He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Gendreau during WWII. Clyde was a barber in the Classen area for over 36 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Don Hanks and Howard Hanks, and two sisters Dorothy Denney, and Lavina Sires. He is survived by his wife Margaret Sue Hanks; two daughters, Marsha Seirn Marsh and Stephanie Edelen and husband Phil; six grandchildren, Juniper Schildt, Ahren Schildt, Shane Daley, Clark Edelen, Spencer Edelen, and Paige Edelen; two brothers, Dr. Norman Hanks, and Glen Hanks and wife Ann; and one sister, Edna Smith. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at the Cherokee Hills Baptist Church, 5700 NW 63rd, Oklahoma City, OK. Family will receive guests from 6 to 8 PM Monday evening at Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary. In Lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Cherokee Hills Baptist Church Library in memory of Clyde. A special thanks to Good Shepherd Hospice for their loving care and attention.
