Marjorie, 81, of Alma, passed away Saturday, at her home with her family at her side, after a courageous fight with renal failure.
Funeral services for Marjorie will be held Tuesday, September 15th at Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home, Alma. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mid Michigan Hospice. Marjorie was born the daughter of Guy and Fern (Irvin) Hanford. She met Lyle Bouchey, so much in love, ran off to elope and marry on September 8, 1945. That was the start of over 50 years of marriage, Lyle passing in 1996. Through those 50 years of marriage came six children, sixteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Marjorie spent many hours preparing her family wonderful home cooked meals, sewing many of her children and grandchildren's clothing, along with quilting many beautiful quilts for her family. Later in life she found a love for the Detroit Tigers.
Marjorie spent most of her life being a homemaker. She worked outside the home for several years with Wolverine Worldwide in Ithaca and at the Travel Lodge in Alma.
She is survived by six children, Larry Bouchey of Alma, Sheila (Ron Ziolkowski) Stover of Lewiston, Joyce McNinch of Ithaca, Mike (Connie) Bouchey of Sumner, David (Marla) Bouchey of Alma and Barb (Tim) Hinderline of Alma. 16 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a sister Marilyn Layton of Sumner and many nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lyle, granddaughter, Rachel Bouchey and a sister, Patricia Jennings.
