Anna Belle was born October 24, 1926 in the city of Alma, Gratiot County, Michigan to parents Christian James Hanford and Millie Mildred Husted. In the Spring of 1930, at the age of 3 years old, she lived with her father, mother and brother, Jesse in a Rented home within Arcada Township. She was the middle child of three children. In 1944, she graduated from Alma High School in Gratiot County, Michigan.
She married Rollien Dorr Adams on December 1, 1945. She gave birth to only one child, in Elm Hall, Gratiot County, Michigan. She and Dorr named their daughter, Dorayne.
After WWII ended, large epidemics of polio arose across the United States, with over 100, 000 people affected between 1945 and 1949. Unfortunately, Anne Belle became one of the tens of thousand affected by Polio. Even though, Anna Belle was stricken with Polio on July 22, 1949 which weaken her legs, her drive and spirit for life never diminished. Fortunately, she was released from the hospital on October 24, 1949.
Anna Belle loved playing trivia pursuit and putting together puzzles with her daughter and granddaughter, as well as spending time with her great grandchildren.
Anna Belle passed away January 17, 2007 at the Wilcox HealthCare Center, Alma, Gratiot County, Michigan. She is interred at the Elm Hall Cemetery next to her beloved husband Dorr in Sumner Township, Gratiot County, Michigan. Elm Hall Cemetery is located on Ferris and Wolf Road.
