Glenda Louise Savage, 65, passed away June 21, 2008 in Prineville, Ore. A graveside service will be held Friday, June 27, 2008 at Juniper Haven Cemetery at 10 a.m. Pastor Richard Hargraves will officiate.
Glenda was born September 17, 1942 in Syracuse, Kansas. She was the first daughter to be born to Chester Ross and Fern Ruth (Grantham) Hanes. The family moved to Mitchell, Oregon in 1951, where Chester worked at Hudspeth Logging. They later moved to Monument where she graduated from high school in 1960. In 1961 she married her high school sweetheart Darrel Savage and together they settled in Ukiah where Darrel worked for the forest service. In 1962 they had their first daughter Cindy; in 1963 their second daughter Leanne and in 1965 their third daughter Debbie. In 1974 Darrel and Glenda moved to Bend, Ore ., and then later relocated to Prineville, Ore., where most of the family resides. Glenda worked as a bookkeeper for 20 years.
She loved to go fishing; crochet; go to yard sales; and do her picture scrapbooks. Glenda had a very positive outlook on life; she loved spending time with her family and friends and had a deep faith in the Lord.
Glenda is survived by her husband Darrel Marvin Savage of Prineville, Ore; daughters Cindy and husband Vince Burback of Boring, Ore; Leanne and husband Kelly Brown of Long Creek, Ore; Debbie and husband Jim Noland of Prineville, Ore; siblings Leroy and wife Mary Hanes of Prineville, Ore; Ruby and husband Merle Williams of Prineville, Ore; Dean and Julie Hanes of Prineville, Ore; Larry and Verlene Hanes of Falcon, Col; Rick and Becky Hanes of Prineville, Ore; Mother Fern Hanes of Prineville, Ore; sister-in-law Nancy Morgan of Prineville, Ore; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; cousins and her aunts Lorraine and Lydia.
She was preceded in death by her grandson Eric Burback; her father Chester Hanes; and her baby sister Connie Rae.
Whispering Pines Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
