Jennie Louise Glenn, 90 of Xenia, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at her residence. She was born February 3, 1919 in Hillsboro, Ohio, one of 16 children born to John Henry and Madge (Day) Handcock.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Samuel Turner; second husband, William Glenn; and a son: Cornelius Handcock.

Jennie is survived by daughters: Anita Phoenix, Gladys (Jason) Turner, Karolena Turner, and Marsha (Robert) Bynum, all of Xenia; stepson: Paul Turner of New Vienna, OH; step-daughter: Geraldine Skinner of Xenia; a sister, Venus Handcock of Hillsboro; sister-in-law: Ruth Handcock of Huber Heights; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; special family friend: Rachel Scott; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jennie was retired from Central State University. She was a long time member of the Third Baptist Church, where she was very active in the Dorcus Ministries.

Funeral service will be held at Noon Monday at the Third Baptist Church, 464 E. Main St., Xenia with Rev. David L. Crutcher, Jr. officiating. Internment to follow in Glen Forest Cemetery, Yellow Springs.

The family will receive friends Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
